The review article by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Beibut Atamkulov “Foreign Ministry in a New Phase" opens the first issue in 2019 and clearly introduces the Ministry's new task with implementing state policy for attracting investment and coordinating activities in the field of export promotion, as well as traditionally presents the concept of the current issue.
Particular attention in this issue is paid to Central Asia, including the developing Kazakh-Uzbek relations. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, Abdulaziz Kamilov, shares his vision on a multi-faceted bilateral cooperation between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the context of regional security in an exclusive article for The Diplomatic Herald.
In the Economic Diplomacy section, readers are presented with articles by Timothy Bennett, the Chief Executive Officer of the Astana International Exchange, and Jerzy Starak, the President of the Supervisory Board of Polpharma, a large pharmaceutical company.
The journal has been expanded to include a new section – “Book Stand". As part of the Year of Youth announced by First President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs published the first book of its kind, “New Faces of Kazakh Diplomacy", with Marian Abisheva, the Director of the Institute of Diplomacy of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, giving a detailed review.
Other important topics covered in the spring issue include the role of the Republic of Tatarstan in the Kazakh-Russian strategic partnership, our country's path from nuclear disarmament to the UN peacekeepers training, the development of the religious sphere in Kazakhstan, social networking diplomacy and other issues.
The Diplomatic Herald of Kazakhstan is published in Kazakh (Дипломатия жаршысы), Russian (Вестник дипломатии) and English.
