“Observing the events in certain regions of the world, we need to appreciate more the independence of Kazakhstan and make all possible efforts to strengthen security and provide favorable conditions for prosperity of our Motherland,” Foreign Minister Kairat Abdrakhmanov stated in his speech.
The Foreign Minister highlighted the outstanding role of President Nursultan Nazarbayev in building a sovereign and independent Kazakhstan, emphasizing that our country's success is known in all corners of the world thanks to the wise and forward-looking policy of Elbasy.
“This year finalizes our two-year non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council. This is a remarkable achievement of independent Kazakhstani diplomacy under the leadership of President Nazarbayev,” the Minister said. According to the Foreign Minister, over the two-year period of Kazakhstan's membership in the UN Security Council, our country has managed to promote the peace initiatives of the Head of State aimed primarily at strengthening stability and security in the Central Asian region, fighting international terrorism, facilitating disarmament and the non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.
The outgoing year was full of various international events held in our country. Particularly, the emphasis was laid on the historic Aktau Summit which resulted in the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea that enshrined the unique status of this water body as a zone of peace and mutually beneficial cooperation.
The Minister also underlined the first working consultative meeting of Central Asian leaders, the continuation of the Astana process on Syria, the launch of the Astana International Financial Center, the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, the CSTO Summit, the CIS Summit, the Astana Economic Forum and other significant international events.
Mr. Abdrakhmanov expressed gratitude to the entire staff of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for their activities and contribution to the implementation of the country's foreign policy priorities.
According to the decrees of President Nazarbayev, a number of veterans and employees of the diplomatic service of Kazakhstan were presented with state awards: Ambassador-at-Large Aiymdos Bozzhigitov and veteran of the diplomatic service Madina Dzharbussynova were awarded the “Parasat” Order. The “Dostyk” Order” of the II degree was given to veteran of the diplomatic service Akmaral Arystanbekova and Kairat Abusseitov, as well as to Ambassador-at-Large Almaz Khamzayev, The “Qurmet” Order was presented to the Executive Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Yermek Kosherbayev, Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Germany Bolat Nussupov, veteran of the diplomatic service Kairat Issagaliyev and Deputy Director of the Asian Cooperation Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ruslan Akhmet.
In addition, a number of employees were awarded the medals “Yeren yenbegi ushin”, “20 years of Astana” and the Certificate of Appreciation of the Republic of Kazakhstan
