ASTANA, March 7, 2019 - A meeting to mark the International Women's Day was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“Kazakh women are achieving great success in their professional activities, they are worthy competitors to men, while at the same time being reliable guardians of the hearth and home comfort," Foreign Minister Beibut Atamkulov said in his statement.
The Minister said that the number of women in the ministry has doubled over the past decade, comprising one-third of the MFA staff today.
A number of women from the ministry were acknowledged on the occasion of this spring holiday.
The Kazakhstan's diplomatic service is rich in the success stories of women who have achieved great heights during their career. They include the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kazakh SSR Balzhan Bultrikova, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and the first Ambassador of Kazakhstan Akmaral Arystanbekova, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Byrganym Aitimova, Madina Zharbussynova, Zhanar Aitzhanova, Mainyura Murzamadiyeva, Raushan Esbulatova, Aigul Kuspan, Ambassador-at-Large Zulfiya Amanzholova, the Head of UNODC for Southern Africa Zhuldyz Akisheva. Currently, 24 women occupy senior positions in the central office of the MFA.
