On the Victory Day at the monument of glory in Amersfoort city memory of Soviet soldiers honored

Victory Day May 9 on the territory of the former Amersfoort military camp was held a ceremony of laying of a wreath at the monument of Soviet soldiers died during the Second World War in the Netherlands.

The ceremony aided by the 'Soviet war cemetery foundation' was attended by representatives of the diplomatic missions of Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Great Britain, Germany, Israel, Kazakhstan, Canada, Uzbekistan, Russia, the United States, as well as the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, mayors of cities Amersfoort and Leusden.

The 'Soviet war cemetery foundation' representatives noted that they hold information about nine Kazakhstani soldiers were shot on the territory of Amersfoort camp, but so far identities of those deceased have not been confirmed yet.

During the commemoration ceremony was announced a minute of silence in honor of soldiers. After the ceremony representatives of the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Netherlands laid wreath to the monument.

In total 865 soldiers from the former Soviet Union are buried on the War Cemetery, despite some of the names on the gravestones are missed, enormous sacrifices made by the people of various former Soviet republics during the war never been forgotten.
