Relations between Kazakhstan and Hungary are characterized as strategic. Strong treaty and legal basis, successful activities of the Strategic Council, intergovernmental commissions on trade-economic and legal cooperation, as well as inter-parliamentary friendship groups contribute to deepening cooperation between the two countries.
For a quarter of a century of partnership, trade and economic relations have developed actively, a number of joint economic projects have been successfully implemented, a joint agricultural private equity fund has been created, and the Hungarian Trade House in Astana has been opened. Hungarian oil and gas company MOL is among the largest investors in our economy.
A powerful impetus to broadening the comprehensive dialogue was given by visits to Hungary by President N.Nazarbayev (1994 and 2007) and Prime Minister K. Massimov (2014), as well as visits by President P. Schmitt (2010) and Prime Minister V.Orban (2013 and 2015) to Kazakhstan.
